Iron Dominion
★★★★☆ 4.4
Iron Dominion is a proper thinker. You manage a small territory, juggle food and ore and population, and expand only when you've shored up your defenses. The AI opponent isn't flashy but it punishes greed, which I respect. One careless expansion and your whole economy wobbles.
Everything happens at your pace since it's turn-based. You can play a full session in twenty minutes or sink an hour into one careful campaign. The interface is dense at first, but a patient tutorial walks you through it without hand-holding forever.
It won't win any art awards, but the systems click together in a satisfying way. If you like planning three moves ahead on your phone, this delivers.
What we liked
- Meaty resource management
- Turn-based, play at your own speed
- Rival AI that actually challenges you
