Offline RPGs Worth Your Storage Space
A good offline RPG is a rare thing on mobile. Too many of them dangle 'single player' in the name while quietly requiring a server to save your progress. The ones worth keeping let you play the whole story in airplane mode, start to finish.
Turn-based combat tends to age best on a phone. You're not fighting touch controls under pressure; you're thinking. Emberfall Chronicle is our current favorite for exactly this, with skill trees that make your party feel like yours by the end.
When you're choosing, check two things before you commit storage: does it save locally, and does it respect short sessions? A thirty-hour RPG is useless if it can't survive a five-minute bus ride without losing your place.
Download sizes matter too. Some of these games are a couple of gigabytes, so clear space before a trip. Nothing worse than hitting a storage wall at the airport.
My rule of thumb: install one long campaign and one quick palate cleanser. You'll always have the right game for the amount of time you've got.
