Keeping Offline Games Without Filling Your Phone
Offline games mean big downloads, and big downloads mean a full phone right when you least want one. The fix isn't a bigger device, it's better habits around what you keep installed.
Before a trip, I do a quick audit. One long RPG, one puzzle, one quick arcade game, and maybe a sim to wind down. That's usually enough variety for any journey without burning half your storage.
Clear caches and offload games you haven't touched in a month. Most stores let you remove an app while keeping the save, so you can reinstall later without losing progress, assuming the game saves locally.
Download everything while you're on Wi-Fi, obviously, and verify each game launches in airplane mode before you leave home. Discovering a broken install at the gate is a special kind of annoying.
A little prep turns your phone into a reliable little console for the journey. Treat the download the night before like packing a bag, and you'll never be stuck staring at a loading screen with no bars.
